OWASP juice shop is an open source project dedicated to letting people practice web app penetration testing. I discovered this very early while teaching myself ethical hacking through internet videos. The freecodecamp web app penetration testing video directed me to this project towards the end of the video after teaching me basic web app penetration testing.
I have completed many challenges via this application such as SQL injection into the admin account then finding the original password for it, putting items into other clients baskets and finding hidden web directories using OWASP ZAP.
After gaining enough experience in the project and with the help of my university alumni, I presented a talk for this at BSIDES Aberystwyth.
Going over what it is, challenges that stood out to me on it, how to install it and overall what I thought of the project. The presentation really helpful for making me used to speaking to crowds.
I have an active streak on tryhackme, more specifically, the junior penetration testing certificate. It has many classes ranging from hacking tools like nmap and burpsuite as well as concepts like networking and the cyber kill path
I have learned so much throughout this course so far and look forward to one day obtaining my certification!
This website and the fact that it is self hosted is a whole project within itself! This is running off an acer revo 2009 of which was gifted to me by a friend. It was a little difficult to get it running an OS i can work with but I got it working in the end.
All the code has been written on the machine and I have rather enjoyed being able to use PHP outside of my degree for this website.
